About

In February 2017, acclaimed contemporary Polish composer Krzysztof Penderecki started the musical celebrations of his anniversary year with Krzysztof Penderecki Days in Armenia: a Jubilee Festival. In collaboration with the Armenian State Symphonic Orchestra and under the artistic direction of its principal conductor Sergey Smbatyan, the jubilee festival was a true success that was highly appreciated by Penderecki. We were commissioned to cover the video production of the entire festival. Besides the concerts, we created a short film - directed by David Babayan - documenting the feelings and perspectives of its two main players: the composer and the conductor.“I wanted the other conductor to be able to conduct the music like I wanted to. The result was fantastic, I think it was maybe absolutely the best I’ve ever had,” says Penderecki on the performance of his Symphony No. 7 during the festival by the Armenian State Symphonic Orchestra.
